Filipino Older Immigrant Youth Worker

Introduction:

The Older Immigrant Youth Worker in this pilot school-based initiative will be providing enhanced settlement support to new older immigrant youth in schools.  The Immigrant Youth Worker’s role involves working with immigrant students who may have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in addition to weak academic backgrounds, poor school attendance and disengagement with school and community resources.

Term of Employment: September 2010 – June 2011

Location: District Resource Placement Centre, Vancouver BC

Salary: $28.12 plus 18.2% in lieu of benefits, if applicable

Allowance: Mileage allowance as required

Hours of Work: 7 hours per day
